What is ADHD Coaching?

With increased awareness of ADHD, more adults and children are being diagnosed now than ever before. Coaching has never been so needed. Our ADHD can create challenges in some areas of our life and coaching supports you to help you have more understanding and compassion for your own ADHD. Having a better understanding of how our own fascinating, unique brain wiring works enables us to have more clarity on what needs to change and how to support that change.

Coaching supports you to feel more in control of your every day life. We explore the key areas of our 'executive function' that can often get in the way including organisation, planning, problem solving, emotional regulation and time management. My aim is to support you to move forward and to have greater clarity on your goals, and how to achieve them.

ADHD Coaching is strengths focused, by recognising our unique strengths and abilities combined with building positive strategies and structures, we can work with our ADHD rather than against it. Our brains are simply wired differently and with better understanding and knowledge we CAN create powerful change.

Working with a professionally trained ADHD coach is different to working with just any coach. We coach through an 'ADHD lens' and understand the challenges that our clients face. There is no need to explain or justify how you think and feel to us, we understand and 'get' ADHD.

Hi, I'm Carlene...

Accredited ADHD Coach & Senior Mental Health Social Worker

My passion for supporting people with ADHD is deeply personal, shaped by my own journey and professional experience. I was diagnosed with dyslexia at 33 and ADHD at 34, which helped me reframe my entire life approach.

As a mother to a son also navigating ADHD and awaiting ASD assessment, I understand this path intimately. My lived experience includes overcoming challenges such as:

  • Postnatal depression
  • Alcohol addiction
  • Homelessness
  • Domestic abuse
  • Body dysmorphia

Professionally, I've supported clients across all ages for over a decade, including those with: PTSD, complex mental health needs, ASD, and substance misuse. In 2021, I received an NHS Staff Award for service contributions.

I am trained in the Neurodivergent Inclusive Coaching Programme and work with clients who have: ADHD, autism, OCD, Tourette's, dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, and dysgraphia.

I also run a monthly in-person ADHD support group and provide coaching for children impacted by domestic abuse, substance misuse, and county lines activity. I work closely with parents and schools to build inclusive environments.

Since 2019, I've specialised as an Advanced Mental Health Social Worker focused on ADHD. I'm currently completing the UK's first accredited ADHD Coaching Level 5 Diploma.

Coaching with me is not just about managing ADHD ‐ it's about thriving with it.

Let's unlock your full potential together.
